My computer says it is connected to the network and the internet but when I try to open my internet browser and open websites, it says it cannot display the webpage but when I try and go to search engines like Google.com I am able to access it. I can't open the search results though.
I'd really appreciate your assistance on this as I really need to get to other websites.
Thanks.
Can only access search engines not other websites, what’s wrong?
If you receive that error there are lots of possible why it happens. Sometimes it’s on your connection and if not it’s in your browser. Have you tried to use other internet browser? If no, try it. If it works maybe the problem is to browser that you are using. But if you tried another browser and you still encounter try it.

Try to check your connection again, or your firewall that you are using or any software that may block the site that you want to visit. Make sure that your problem is not only specific to you’re the website that your are visiting, because it is possible that the website is temporary down.
-
Shut down the computer and then start it again.
-
Shut down your system. Unplug your router and unplug your modem. After a few minutes power it back again, this will clearing your IP and DNS that might cause of the problem.
-
Lastly maybe your system has some type of spyware / virus you need to remove them by available remover.

Hi Dennis,
Try restarting your computer. Also try disconnecting from the network and connecting again in the 'Network And Connection Centre' and see if this helps. Sometimes the computer goes into a relaxed mode hence cannot browse but simply restarting solves the problem. Also check the proxy settings of your browser to ensure that they are properly configured in accordance with the status of the network you are using.
To check the proxy settings, go to tools in the menu bar of your browser and click on internet options.
Go to the Advanced Tab, and check the configuration of your settings under Network > Settings:
Hope this helps.
