I have a Sony Vaio Z and I'm trying to install Linux live 12.5. And gives me an error of "unable to find a medium containing a live file system". The specs of my Vaio are i5, 4G Ram, 1G Video card and 1TB HD. I tried to install it on another computer and it works fine. Can someone help me in installing Linux live via CD?
Can someone help in installing Linux live vaio cd?
Hi there,
Here I am giving some short instructions to fulfil the goal of yours. You have to setup the BIOS before you want to install Linux in your Sony Vaio Z. Now what you have to change is BIOS settings during start up the computer. Now go to the advanced tab and select plug & play O/S, if that is listed as “yes” then change it to “no” by pressing the space bar. Now save and exit from the BIOS and reboot. After that shut down the computer and connect the CD-ROM. Now the initial screen will appear, please do not hit enter. Write there “Linux ide2=0x180, 0x360”, press enter and follow the instructions.
Best regards,
Riley Weaver.
