Can someone suggest a simple calendar diary Mac app?

I have a 27" iMac that has Intel Core i5 3.2 GHz, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 675MX Graphics Card and OSX Mountain Lion. 

I'm looking for a journal or calendar app that has iCloud syncing. 

Can someone suggest a simple calendar diary Mac app?

I've been looking around and the top rated app for iMac calendars/journal's is an app called iCal, It's free. Heres a few features it has.

• YOU CAN MANAGE MORE THAN ONE EVENT AT A TIME.
• SET CUSTOM ALARMS
• ADD A TO-DO LIST AND SET ALARMS WHEN YOU NEED THEM DONE.
• VERY EASY AND SIMPLE APP TO USE.
• iCAL automatically pulls birthdays from your personal address book.

I found Fantastical, a calendar app with great reviews and was a winner in 2011 Macworld Editor’s Choice Award. 

It simply sits on the menu bar of your Mac and you can use natural, everyday language in creating your event or reminder. It is simple to use with a simple click, easy to find and manage your events and reminders. 

With the latest version of this app, the reminders are integrated that allows adding and editing reminders on your Mac and synced via the icloud to your IOS devices. On top of that, it supports 5 languages – English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
