Can’t Send Mails in Microsoft Office 2007 SP2 Outlook
Hi,
My PC is installed with Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 2, and I’m having an issue with Outlook. I am using Windows 7 64 bit which is connected to a SBS 2008 server. Windows 7 is fully up-to-date, but I have been unable to upgrade to Office 2007 Service Pack 3. I am confident the computer is free of viruses as it has been checked by 2 types of anti-virus software. My problem is that my PC can’t send any emails.
When I create a new email and attempt to send an email using a SMTP address I receive the error "outlook does not recognize one or more names". I was previously able to send and receive email by POP3. The problem started when an end-user removed the exchange account on the SBS server.
The default account on the server was the POP3 account, but an exchange account was configured. As a result of the exchange account being deleted, Microsoft Outlook would no longer open as there wasn’t a default data file.
After creating a new Outlook profile with POP3 as the default, I am now able to receive emails but still receive the same error message when trying to send emails. In further attempts to solve this problem, I have setup numerous new profiles and have run scanpst.exe which in turn has found 62 errors.
Does anyone know how to solve this error so I can send email again? Any help is appreciated.
