Hi I need help.
Just 2 days ago a virus corrupts the OS of my computer running Win2000.I upgraded and installed winXP Pro. After the installation,I cannot access the USB hard disk. I was able to access the USB hard disk before the upgrade. I called the manufacturer of the hard disk but they do not offer a driver for WinXP Pro.What should I do? I need to access my USB HD..

Cannot access USB HD after upgrading from Win2000 to WinXP Pro
The reason you are not seeing your USB HD is because you lost your drive letter. But don't worry at all because I'm providing you with the most possible way to regain it. Just do what I say-
Right Click on 'My Computer' > Manage > Storage > Disk Management
This shows a list which contains all the drives with or without drive letters.
Now you will find your USB HD without any drive letter.
Now right click on the drive > Change drive letters & Paths > Shows Your drive in 'My Computer'
N.B. : If you see any warning message, just ignore it.

Hi,
you should install the usb drivers in your system.for that you can search the drivers in internet.installing drivers is the only solution for it.
