Hi folks,
I recently upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to Microsoft Office 2007. A little while after that my computer was infected. The infection was removed by AVG Antivirus which is installed on my computer.
Thereafter, I noticed that i am not able to open nor am i able to save PDF attachments sent to me in emails. Microsoft Outlook is my default email client.Â
When i try opening the attachments, I receive an error message saying that the attachment could not be opened.
So once again if i double clicked on the file ,I cannot open it. If i try to copy or save it ,I cannot also do that.
I already reinstalled Adobe Reader X on my computer ,but this did not help.
Help needed.

Cannot open or save PDF attachments in Outlook
Hello Collin!
Try this one to resolve your issue:
1. Locate the registry key by opening REGEDIT.EXE. You can run this on Start menu.
2. Click on EDIT at the top of the Registry Editor window and choose FIND. A dialog box will appear and just type OutlookSecureTempFolder and press enter.
3. You will be then redirected to a folder's location, copy it.
4. Paste and run the folder's location on Start menu.
5. A windows explorer containing files from that folder's location will pop up. Delete all the files.
6. You can now open your PDF attachments after restarting the Microsoft Outlook
See screenshot below to have an idea of what the Registry Editor window is.
Regards,
Sam

Cannot open or save PDF attachments in Outlook
Hello Collin Bates, as you mentioned that you have successfully updated your outlook from 2003 to 2007 then there shouldn’t be any problem.
As previously in outlook versions there was a known bug about PDF viewer.
Please choose the plug in for outlook for PDF files and it will be shown as your mails.
Following image shown will enable this plug in.
Have a nice Day.
