Cannot Open RAW Photos in Windows and Windows Live Photo Gallery

Hello,

I recently purchased a new system with Windows 7 Operating System and installed Windows Live Photo Gallery but I got an error message when I tried to open this gallery. You can see the following error message as I have tried to save photos in the gallery. Please provide possible solutions to fix this issue. I would be grateful to you. Thanks in advance.

Hi David,

Try reinstalling the windows 7 setup because there may be files missing that are already existing. But try to remove the error first by downloading and running a advance registry cleaner. This is a software that scans through and fixes problems in the Windows registry.

Hi,

Follow The introduction To solve Your Question. 

Go to this page: Download: Microsoft Camera Codec Pack. Download the acceptable version of your software package (32-bit or 64-bit) and install it. A boat may well be needed.

 

When done, you may notice the primary amendment in Windows soul. Now, rather than the Windows icon Gallery fingernail being shown for every icon, you may see Associate in Nursing actual preview of all the RAW photos.

 

Double click on an image and it's opened in Windows Photo Gallery.

 

However, you won’t be able to edit it in Windows Photo Gallery. Don’t forget to form a .JPEG copies of it by planning to "File -> create a copy". Then, you'll be able to edit the copy of the RAW image.

 

Known Bug: After you put in the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack, I detected that, anytime you open a RAW image, Windows icon Gallery asks you double to form a replica of it, so as to edit the image to urge eliminate this double warning, check the box that says "Don’t show this message again", double – once in every warning. Then, it'll ne'er be shown once more.

Cannot Open RAW Photos in Windows and Windows Live Photo Gallery

To solve this, you need to download Microsoft Camera Codec Pack, as per your 32 or 64 bit system.

Install it on your system, and you will be able to see the preview of RAW images when you open the Windows photo gallery, also you will be able to open and save them as jpeg if you need.
