“Cannot open shared object file” error on AbiWord

I cannot open a single AbiWord (https://www.abisource.com/) document.  I tried reinstalling the software but I am still unable to open files.

I tried running the application from the Start Menu, and even from the terminal, but I still failed.  Below is the error message:

abiword: error while loading shared libraries: libgoffice-0.8.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

“Cannot open shared object file” error on AbiWord

 

Hello Noelle pineda. This is a problem which is usually found in Ubuntu operating system. Let me try to solve the problem. The error abiword : "error while loading shared libraries: libgoffice-0.8.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" can be solved if you follow the steps below. libgoffice-0.8.so.7 went MIA & you need to create a new link to so.8 then it will work. Do you want to do a bug report? I would guess that it will be updated fairly soon. It would show up during the system build. I hope this solution will provide help to your problem. Regards.
