Cannot Open Zip Files On Windows 7

I was able to unzip files on my Windows 7 laptop until last week when I had to reinstall Windows due to various reasons. After the reinstall, I cannot open zip files on windows 7. How do I remedy this situation?

Cannot Open Zip Files On Windows 7

The thing is that unzip and zip files are not a feature of Windows itself. These are actually enabled using third-party programs like WinZip, 7Zip, and WinRAR. Therefore, when you get a fresh install of Windows, these won’t work by default.

To be able to zip and unzip files again, all you need to do is download and install WinZip, WinRAR, and 7Zip. Go to their official websites and download them according to your system configuration. Install them and restart your computer. You will regain the ability to unzip files.
