If your account is under an Exchange server, the first thing you may want to check is the size of your mailbox. Usually, if your mailbox is under Exchange, there is a default mailbox quota set for it. Usually it is 100MB. If your mailbox quota is over the mailbox limit, then that may be the reason why you are unable to send emails. Usually the first warning if we hit the quota is to prevent us from sending emails. You may opt to archive some emails and see If that can clear the space and lets you send in emails.
Here’s an alternative if you can’t send an email but you can receive one. You can try sending your message to port 26; this is the alternative SMTP port. Open Microsoft Office Outlook then go to Tools, Accounts or Account Options. Select Mail tab then click Properties. Select Advanced tab then change the port number of the outgoing mail from 25 to port 26.
Uncheck “This connection requires a secure connection (SSL)” if it is checked, click OK then restart Microsoft Office Outlook. See if this works. Also try using your Internet Service Provider’s SMTP Server when sending your mail. The process is also the same but instead of using port 25 or port 26, use your ISP’s server.
The reason why this is happening to you is because your Internet Service Provider is restricting you from using other’s outgoing mail server and they expect and want you to use theirs. Several major Internet Service Providers block outgoing mails to avoid their connection from being utilized for spamming.
