Can’t install Win7 64 bits on Vista

Hi all!

I failed to run the set up of Windows 7 64 bits. And an error emerged which reads -”Cannot install Windows 7 on this version of Vista.

Now I understood that it is because I’m using 32 bit OS. I need suggestions on ways to clean install.

Please also help me with the following issues: How to format C: on vista?

Is there any possibility for 7 to run at startup after formatted derives?

Help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

You can only upgrade to a 64 bit windows 7 if you are using a 64 bit vista.

You need to upgrade your vista to 64 bit for you to successfully upgrade to windows 7 64bit.

You might also want to check if your processor is 64 bit capable.

Go to control panel > system & maintenance > performance & information tools.

Now go to view and print details.

You will see the 64 bit capable listing.

To format vista, go to control panel>system and maintenance > administrative tools > computer management.

Under storage in the navigation pane,go to disk management.

Right click on C then click format.

Hope this helps.
