Can’t update Windows after hard disk reformatting

Hi everyone,

I wanted to update my Windows so I decided to reformat my hard disk. A message suddenly appeared saying:

“To continue, you must first download and install the latest version of Windows updating software that is designed to work with the website. ”

I clicked the update button to continue. Then my computer downloaded some files and copied them to the hard disk but up until now, I am still unable to update my Windows. I just keep on seeing this error message:

“0x8024D007: The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. ”

It's the same message that has been showing for the last couple of days. I did the exact same thing on another PC and it updated successfully.

What is wrong with my PC? Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance!

The reason to get this error 0x8024D007 is either insufficient file access permission or registry keys access problem.

There may be an issue with BITS, which is background file transfer mechanism and queue manager, it doesn't have any user interface and also can't be uninstalled as this component is a part of windows automatic update.

Just run two dll files to resolve this issue which is as shown below:

  • qmgr.dll and qmgrprxy.dll

This files are associated with windows update service its a background intelligent transfer service and other dll is for a proxy service.

The other reason you might receive this error could be an issue with file wups2.dll. To resolve just register the above mentioned dll file into system32 folder of windows.
