I have an ongoing case study about the benefits of XML on a large enterprise. The company that I've selected is BMW (Bavarian Motor Works). It was a successful automobile company, indeed. I just want to hear your opinions and ideas on why do you think working with XML BMW became more successful with its operations. Thanks!

Hello Patty,

I believe you are referring to XML which is used in creating websites. If so, XML benefits a business website such as that for BMW in a number of ways which include:

•    XML as used in a website uses human language and not computer language which makes it readable and understandable by everyone.
•     XML is very compatible with various applications such as JAVA, and in this case can be combined with any application which is capable of processing XML irrespective of the platform it is being used on which improves the efficiency of the website.
•     XML can be used on large networks with multiple platforms like the internet because it is an extremely portable language. It can be used on handhelds or palmtops or PDAs which makes the website using it to be more accessible by clients

Thank you.
