I frequently use Excel for my work but since last few days I am trying to open a particular file and I am repeatedly getting permission denied error 70. Can someone tell me the cause for this error so that I can find a work around?

Causes For Permission Denied Error 70 And Solution

The various causes for this error can be-

1. Trying to open a file for sequential append or output that is write protected. Try opening in input.
2. Trying to open a file in a disk that is write protected.
3. Let locked files by another running function are being opened. Let the function terminate and then open.
4. Trying to access registry without proper permissions. You need to have proper permissions to access registry.
