I made a new build for a pc today and everything went smoothly. Until I used the ASROCK UEFI Setup utility. I set my CD room to be the first boot. However my CD room will not open for me to put the as installation disc in. The drive powers on the led turns on for about five seconds then it sounds like it turns off. The drive will not eject. Has anyone ever run into this?
I checked my connections to the motherboard a hundred times and they are connected properly.
CD Drive not opening or staying on?
Actually this problem occurs for some reasons, such as if your device is not ready, necessary connection are not connected properly. You need to check your CD ROM, CD ROM leaser and its data cable connection. You can setup your operating system for configure new setting, if some necessary file of your windows such as dll or inf file is missing, also you may appear this kind of problem. When everything is OK and If you have warranty then you need to send it for replace, otherwise you can try to solve the problem. Make sure your Power cable is connected properly and your CD ROM light flicking clearly. Reset your computer BIOS, Check your CD/DVD, Restart your computer, Hope your problem will be solve. Thanks.

CD Drive not opening or staying on?
Have you tried opening the CD tray manually, you can actually do it by using a paperclip. Here’s a Picture below illustrating where you should stick the paperclip.

Also if you have some spare IDE wires try replacing them.
If the problem still persists, try restoring your system into a previous date that it still works, maybe a shell part was corrupted or something when you installed that ASROCK.
If nothing really worked i believe you have a defective drive, try dropping into a computer shop or replace it with a new one.
Goodluck!
CD Drive not opening or staying on?
Whats up Rasell11, I've also faced the same problem and so don't worry you are not the only one. The main problem is usually a hardware problem in the cd rom perhaps when there is something blocking or hardware problems. The solution here is, to look for a thin wire e.g a paperclip wire and push it through the emergency opening hole (the small hole under the tray) this pushes the tray to open. Illustrated in the diagram;
You may then need to detach the cd-rom from the computer and remove the front casing/benzil. You can then try plugging it to the cables without returning it to the computer. If this doesn't work, unplug it and open it up and clean all the dust or unwanted stuff in the drive then close the casing and attach it back to its cables and return it to the computer and try reopening it (note;all this you should be doing while your computer is off to avoid any shock) This should work after you switch on your computer.
