Every time I run the program Camera Assistant, an error message displays that says, “CEC_MAIN.exe couldn’t execute”. I believe I should re-install the software. However, I really cannot find a solution to this issue. Can somebody help and assist me on this problem so I can use the Camera Assistant again? Thank you!

Hi,
Re-Installing the camera program won’t help, as the error denotes that there is some security software which is blocking the program, or maybe has altered the program.
What I suggest is that first of all go to the following path and try to locate the file “CEC_main.exe”
C:Program FilesCamera Assistant Software for ToshibaCEC_MAIN.exe
Where C is the default drive path where this program may be installed. If you can see the file “CEC_main.exe”, then you are required to add this file in the trusted applications of your Antivirus Program. Also add this to the exceptions in your windows firewall or any other firewall installed in your system
How to add to trusted application in the antivirus program depends on the type of antivirus you are running, you will need to either check its help file or contact the vendors of the AV
If you cannot locate the file or the file “CEC_main.exe” is not present on the given path, this means your antivirus program must have removed it and quarantined. You again are required to open its quarantined file location and restore the file to its original location, AND PERFORM THE STEPS TO ADD IN TRUSTED APPLICATIONS.

One thing that you should note is that the CEC_Main is a Camera Assistant which is available on many computers, an example being Toshiba. The program will be found on many laptops whereby the integrated webcam has been made especially by Chicony. And therefore you will need to disable that feature, and you can do that by disabling the Camera Assistant TrayBar startup which can be found on the Startups tab, or you can alternatively choose to delete the program itself. Tot find it, you will need to access the following location: "C:Program Files".
But in case the file has been located in c:windows, or maybe the c:windowssystem32 folder, then the cause of the problem could be some malware that have camouflaged themselves as CEC_MAIN.exe, and therefore you will need check where it is located so as you can be able to know if it is malware or a virus.
