Hi to all the readers,
I am using an HP machine and it is running on Windows XP Service Pack 2. There is an issue with my power options. I tried to set and change the power options, but it does not take effect. I did the usual refreshing of the machine and tried it again but to no avail.
Looking back, I believe there is a security update which was installed on this computer before this happened. In addition, I do not know if the security update is more important than that of my power option issue. I hope someone can suggest a better option for me to have the update and my power options working both at the same time.

Changes in power options would not take effect
Hello dear,
If you are sure that you have installed a security application, first you have to check the application, that's why this problem is occurring. Change the power options and settings as you want, and they will show the effects as well. Just choose Properties on the desktop and choose Screen Saver. On the lower area of the screen saver tab, you will see a power button in front of the Energy Star logo. Just click on it, then you will see this window.
Just make changes as you desire to your power scheme, and click apply and then ok.
Thanks.
