Changing file type without purchasing more software

I was sent a photo in a .pi file and I am looking to see if I can edit it without purchasing more software. I need to get it into a format where I can use it for posting, editing, and other files. I was going to ask the sender to change the format, but I'd prefer if I can find a resolution on my own. Is the only way to do this to purchase more software? Adobe is asking me to buy something else but I am wondering if there is a way around it? Thanks.

Hi Warren!

I just want you to know that the reason why we need to acquire or purchase software that can read you file is for one simple reason. We need this to open your file properly. If you don’t have the proper software you’ll lose data or lose the integrity of the file itself. Worst case scenario you the file can be damaged for bypassing codec rules.

However there are websites that will let you convert open your files for free. You can just convert it through their site by posting the location of the file. You can also convert the format by requesting other way to open the file in their website.
