I am using Windows 7 in my PC, I would like to know how to change the icons of Applications and Folders of Desktop in Windows 7.
Please do the needful for explaining me the step by step procedure of changing the icons.

Changing the icons in Windows 7
Hi Gerardo,
Here's how to change icons for your Applications and Folders in Windows 7:
1. On your desktop, right click then select Personalize.
2. In the Personalization window, click Change Desktop Icons.
3. A new window will appear named Desktop Icon Settings. Default desktop icons are displayed below. Choose any the icons you wished to be changed and then click Change Icon.
4) You can choose any of the icons displayed below then click Ok. If you have your own icon which is not included on the list, you can click Browse to locate the new icon and then click Ok.
5. To change Folder icons on your desktop, just right-click on the selected folder then select Properties.
6. On the Properties window, select the Customize tab then click Change Icon just below Folder icons.
7. You will notice that it is the same window as the Desktop Icon settings. Select an icon you on the list or Browse an icon that you wish to replace the old one.
Changing the icons in Windows 7
Not all of the applications you install contain several other icons to replace the original. There are times an application can only contain one icon and if it does you cannot change its icon on the desktop.
To change the icon of the program displayed in your desktop, right-click on the icon of your preferred program and then select Properties. In the program’s Properties under Shortcut tab, click Change Icon.
Select your desired icon from the set of icons then click OK throughout to apply the new icon.

You can also select and browse for other icons besides the one available in your program. You only need to click on the Browse button and then select the file that contains icons or go to a folder that contains different icons. This process is somewhat similar when changing the icon of a folder.
To change the icon used by a folder, right-click on the folder then select Properties. Select Customize tab. Locate “Folder icons” at the bottom of the window then click Change Icon. Select the icon you like then click OK throughout.
