Checking a windows 7 serial if genuine

How can I check if my Windows 7 key is genuine? A friend of mine just gave me which he claims a Windows 7 Ultimate genuine key. I am still in doubt that the serial is genuine.

Hi Jericho Taddeus,

   There are a lot of ways on how to check if your Windows 7 is genuine or not, and it is pretty simple and easy too. Even if you don’t know how to check it, you can still know if it is genuine or not especially  if you are connected to the internet because Windows will directly send you a message that your windows is not genuine if ever it finds out that it is not genuine. It is able to scan your system through updating your windows. If you are not still satisfied, then check it yourself. Here it is:

Solution 1

1.       Right click on My Computer -> Select Properties

2.       Scroll Down to navigate where the Windows Activation area is locate

Hello there,

There are many to check if your Windows is Genuine or pirated. You can check it by going to the properties by right clicking on the My Computer icon. But sometimes pirated windows can show genuine in the properties. To make sure go the official link of Microsoft to check if your Windows is genuine or not. And please report if your Windows is pirated.

Hi 

To check that your Windows 7 is genuine, Click Start and type Activate Windows on the search field. If you see the box that says "Activation was successful", your Windows 7 is activated and genuine.
