My DivX movies suddenly started being Choppy on my PC, but this is not for all videos. There are some videos that are still smooth when playing. I have installed the K-Lite Codec Pack. It was fine until I opened the files recently.
This happens with my Windows Media Players and sometimes on my VLC Player.
Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?
Choppy DivX videos on my players
Your movie format is not compatible with your codec packs. K-Lite is good. Also you can install Combined Community Codec Pack:CCP.
Choppy DivX videos on my players
If the problem is happening in the divx player as well as the windows media player, then I suspect it is not a problem with the media players but the videos that you are playing. In case you are playing the videos from a DVD or CD, then that media may be having problems. Either it is scratched, and therefore it the data on it cannot be read well with the DVD drive. What you should do in that case is try cleaning up the CD or DVD, and even the DVD drive itself since accumulation of dirt it may hinder proper reading of data from CDs and DVDs. Once you have cleaned them, try playing the videos again and see if they will play well this time round.
