It is the fault of your hard disk which has some corrupted files which are causing this problem. I have also facing the same problems, whenever I put some load to my computer then it turned off automatically. Finally I replaced my hard drive with a new Maxtor hard disk and installed a fresh and registered Windows XP on it and my problem has resolved totally.

I would like to refer you Maxtor hard disk which is reliable and perfect for its amazing quality. You can view its image which I am going to share below:

You don’t have to buy a brand new hard drive just by encountering this problem. The shutting down of your computer whenever you try to install something on it has nothing to do with your hard drive. If you did not see any error message appearing on your screen before your computer shuts down that says something about the problem in the hard drive, you don’t have to worry about buying a new hard disk.

The shutting down problem could be caused by an overheating processor. You should check the inside of your CPU if the processor’s cooling fan is still functioning properly. If the processor’s cooling fan doesn’t spin right or maybe spins slower than normal, this can cause your processor to overheat because it doesn’t receive enough ventilation through the cooling fan. If the processor overheats, your system will just shuts down as if there’s a power failure.

If this is your case, it would help by turning on an electric fan facing the back of your CPU. This will add more ventilation to your processor. But if its cooling fan is really faulty, you should replace it to avoid any damage to the processor or to the hard drive.

It seems that your Windows Installer is corrupted or probably infected by a virus. Please run a complete scan on your computer to determine the real issue. I suggest that you use Panda Antivirus 2013 Pro. Run a scan after successfully installing this software and then delete Windows Installer if there are any viruses found.
