Computer produces a deafening sound from its fan

I really need help. My computer produces a deafening sound from its fan. I have tried to clean it severally, at times using air pressure but as of now, there’s really no improvement. The noise still persists. I have also replaced the fan a number of times but to my disgust, nothing seems to change. Well the computer’s maker is Compaq, its processor is 800 megahertz while its random access memory is 512 megabytes. It is a computer I have used for many years (probably 3 and above). For your assistance please.

Hi Michael

Can you be sure the noise is coming from one of the fans. It could be coming off from any mechanical devices such as the hard drive or a DVD drive. Run the computer while the case is open and listen closely to the sound that is created to check this.

Even if a fan is running at it's top speed, it shouldn't produce a sound which you describe as deafening. You have made sure that nothing is wrong with the fan, so the problem must be with the objects you attach your fan too. If it is the processor fan then check whether the heatsink is attached properly to the motherboard or whether something is wrong with the heatsink's attachment points with the fan.

This is surely a power supply problem i got the same problem and after some days my power supply was not able to work so you need to check the power supply of your computer in this case. Make sure that you are running your computer on a full voltage that it requires and also check that there is not spark or some broken wires in your system. There can also be many reasons for this problem may be some components of your power supply are not working fine. It also depends on your atmosphere that in what atmosphere you are running your computer. Is it in a lot of heat or it is in a lot of cold mode you need to check these points also and make sure that you have the required room temperature to run this computer. And finally you will be able to solve your problem. Also you need a technical person how will further guide you and configure your power supply if you are still getting the same problem.
