Computer Running but Monitor is not working

Hello

I have just finished set-up my computer.I turned the computer on and everything runs, the fans lights etc.

But there is no display.

I know its not the ram because I just replaced it with some that I know it works.

Could it be the video card. I am really pissed that the thing isn't working.

Help me please,

Hi,

It is not a difficult task to do to get your monitor up and running, first thing first you should ensure all your cables are securely jacking in their various ports, if all is connected properly, and still negative, then open your CPU,take out your video card, connect it back to the slots ensure you hear the click, power up your pc and if the monitor is working then that's the trick.

However if its still not working then you need to check your monitor on another CPU, it can mean that if you did all the previous step and the result was negative that the problem is your monitor, follow the steps I'm sure it will work.

Hello Enrique,

You should first check that you have properly plugged your monitor's cable back to your CPU.if it is properly plugged then it could be some other fault. Is your monitor showing the power light on if it is not showing then try switching its power button to on again and again and pressing it for long time. If power light is on try checking the brightness and contrast settings which can be changed by buttons on the bottom or right of your monitor.

Try checking your cable (which connects your monitor to CPU). Even none of them works out then try using your friend's monitor with your computer and your monitor with his computer. If its works fine then the problem is in your video card.

I have experience f this problem many times. I wonder why, but this site techyv.com have made my problems gone. I thanks this site and also to the experts thanks to both of you it really works.

Computer Running but Monitor is not working

Another option that you would like to consider is plugging different monitor to your CPU or computer. Observe also if the cables are still in good shape. Try using different cables during your testing or test the cables to other set of PC. Lastly, see if the ports are still in good condition also.
