I am using a Windows 7 Operating System and using a wired connection to the internet, every time I connect my computer to the internet my computer suddenly stops responding. I emptied the temp folder in the windows and user account including the temporary internet file folder in the user account. As a result I can connect to the internet but after 5 to 10 min computer stops responding. But when I disconnect the LAN cable my computer never stop responding until I shutdown my computer.

Computer stop responding when connected to internet
Hi, you never mention which type of connection are you using if you are using Dial up connection then check your modem preferences might be problem with your modem try to remove or unplug your model from your computer. If you are using a LAN network with internet then check your internet settings and LAN Authorities. Might be problem with your LAN card also or Ethernet cable try to change your Ethernet cable if the problems resists again then try to change your LAN card or check LAN card driver also might be its not working properly.
Hope all troubleshoot with help you.
Computer stop responding when connected to internet
Most of the time, when it comes to computer hangs up during connecting to the internet, there are viruses or Trojans infecting your computer. But before we go to the virus part, you can try to install a fresh copy of your internet browser or if not, try another browser. If this does not fix the problem, you better check your computer whether your anti virus is up to date. Try to uninstall your anti-virus and re install it after you set your computer in safe mode. During safe mode, most running viruses and Trojans are disabled and you can install the anti-virus with less worry. This solution solves my problem before, I hope it will work for you too.
