Configuration Error Which are located outside Drive C

I was using IIS7 Manager to update the settings of web.config of several of my sites.

I noticed that this problem only happens for sites that are located outside my C:inetpub folder.

So I transferred some websites that I had setup in my drive E:.

This didn’t help, and the error keeps on showing up.

Can someone please lend me a hand?

Configuration Error Which are located outside Drive C

 

The problem is an access configuration problem. See the security of the folders that you have copied. These should have full access to your account and the IIS manager and the networking. The remote host has the read and execute permissions. All the problem is the read only property of the folder which you have copied or the entire path from the root to the destination file that is the web- config. Check the security. If no problems with it then you need to see the problems with the web- config file which must have been set to write-protected. Open it and then set there.
