I have upgraded my video card to Diamond Viper 770 Ultra that has different jumper configurations for AGP 2x and 4x (I am using an Intel Pentium 440BX chipset mx 400mhx). In which configuration should I set it for, 2x or 4x AGP?

If you have user manual of your motherboard then It would be easier for you about setting the jumper.

Factory default jumper settings are set to AGP 2x. no need to make any changes to the jumpers on the card if you have 2x motherboard. But if its AGP 4x motherboard to set the jumper use the following instructions.

Viper 770 has 4 jumpers located on the card. They are visible on the illustration below as J1, J2, J3, J4. the j4 pins are marked A B C for reference.

to move the jumpers to the AGP 4x configuration:

1.Move jumper J4 from the factory default A-B position to the B-C position.

2. Move jumper J1 to J3

your card is now set to the AGP 4x configuration.
