Hello everyone,
Is there a way I can use to connect my Asus WL600g as the gateway modem router to a D link mimo router 802g? Moreover, will I encounter any problem when trying to get to a higher level?
ThanksÂ
Connect Asus WL600g as gateway modem router to D-link mimo router 802g

First of all, you need to go to the Asus router settings. So, in your web browser address bar type 192.168.1.1 and then go to wireless and then wireless bridge. Then, select access point in the AP mode and enabled in the Bridge restrict. In the remote bridge MAC address, type the MAC address of the other router i.e. your d-link router.
Now go to advanced setup and then LAN. In LAN, check that the IP address is 192.168.1.1 and check the enable DHCP server button. In start IP address type 192.168.1.3 and the end IP address should be 192.168.1.254
Now again go to wireless and then security. Then set the network authentication to shared. Also set encryption to WEP. Higher encryption will give you problems.
Now moving on to the other router i.e. the d-link. Here you have to enable wireless bridging and repeating. In the LAN menu, disable DHCP server. Also, set the IP address to 192.168.1.2
Use the WEP encryption  on the d-link router too. Use the same password on both routers.
I don’t think you should have any problem when trying to get to a higher level. Â
Connect Asus WL600g as gateway modem router to D-link mimo router 802g
Hi John Anderton,
Asus WL600g has the following specifications, so there should be no problem with using Asus WL600g as gateway modem:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
It has Automatic ISP setting detection and Wireless Distribution System. (i.e. it can use as an internet gateway to extend network coverage), so other routers can connect to the Internet through WL-600g.
You can check the link below for a video tutorial on ‘how to setup Asus WL600G as gateway’:
Remember, you will need a series type connection, not in parallel, meaning that you should connect one of your routers directly to the modem and connect another router to the first one.
