Connecting my PC to my TV with a Hi-Fi Sound System

Do I need any additional Wi-Fi hardware for my computer so that I can be able to connect other devices that I want? To start with, I have the latest Netgear CGD24N v2, it is a modem router consisting of four-ports Ethernet connections with no USB connection. My computer is connected to one port of the router and the other three ports for other connections, and I also have a TV connected to it wirelessly. Now, I would like to know if I can be able to view my computer’s contents on the hard drive to my TV? And also, can I connect an audio streamer or my Hi-fi sound system which will be used in the other room to the computer. From this I could be able to play music from my computer directly to my Hi-fi sound system. I need help on how to do this. Thanks to all.

Connecting my PC to my TV with a Hi-Fi Sound System

Hello Stephanie Gray,

If the audio streamer or the Hi-fi sound system that you are using in your other room is wired enabled than you can use it to access the contents of the computer wirelessly. I am hoping that when you setup the network in the house you did not just set up the cable connection only, but  you set up the wireless connection too.

Alternatively, if the Hi-fi sound system has a port where you can connect a network cable, them it should be possible for you to connect it to the network using a network cable, and thereby you will have the capability to access the contents on computer drive and therefore play music from there.
