I am designing a file that is way too big to fit in Photoshop. As a result, my computer hangs most of the time now. I am designing a hoarding in my on-going project. How can I fix it? How can I make a ratio that will fit in Photoshop and will enable me to continue working.

Correct ratio of an image to fit in Photoshop
Hello Clark,
If the file that you are working on is an image file, then you will need to reduce its size, which you can still do using Photoshop or use image editing programs like fireworks, paint and even ms office picture manager. You can also try changing the format that the image is in, for instance if the image is in the png format which is a bit heavier, try saving it as a jpg or gif document which are lighter and see what the response is when you work on it in Photoshop. (To avoid losing your original document, ensure that you retain a copy of the document you are using right now just in case problems may arise in the process of using it in different formats).
Otherwise I will recommend that you check the status of your computer memory and if it below 3GB you may consider upgrading it because it may be the one resulting to slowness.
