Corrupted zipped file when extracting

I’ve downloaded a file which is a WinRar. When I try to extract it, an error occurred the extraction was aborted, when I’m downloading this file the connection was never interrupted. I’ve downloaded the file again but it gives me the same error. Can this error be fixed?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Corrupted zipped file when extracting

• If the file has a mirror download then try downloading it from a different server. If it still gives you an error, may be the file that has been uploaded is already corrupted before you download the file. Try to Google the same file if it’s available from different web site or server.
• If your entire download including application/installer gives you an error when opening them, then you might be having a LAN card problem. I personally experience this one when I change my LAN card; all the application that I have downloaded was corrupted.
• There is an option in WinRar in which you can repair damaged zipped file. Open the WinRar application and locate the zipped file. Right click and click Repair Archive. Select the Archive type and click OK. If successful it will rebuild the zipped file. Try to extract again the file and see if the corrupted file was fixed.

Hi Vivian, the file you just downloaded was already corrupt. If you have other mirror site to download to please do so, If not then we'll try to fix the file which you cannot extract. First download a rar repair program, you can search the net for free downloads but always look for a free version so you won't get any viruses. I recommend the RAR repair tool which is fast and accurate.

One you downloaded the RAR repair tool, open it and locate the rar file you just downloaded then click recover/repair, w8 till finish. Try to open the extracted file and verify if the file is working and you can open it.
