Is it possible to request for the readynas developers add the secured delete packages or a readynas raidar secure erase?
Because in such a way would I be able to secure deleting of files or what so ever some options to run these utilities through ssh.
I am seeking an expert counseling about this matter before I proceed with my actions to contact or get in touch with the said team,
Thank you very much.
Could I request readynas raidar team a secure erase feature?
Hi Lewis Marvinn,
For those who might not know it yet, RAIDar 4.1.3 is a software or program developed by NETGEAR to detect ReadyNAS devices on the network. ReadyNAS is the product name for the line of premium NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices that Netgear is selling to small businesses and consumers. One of the changes since the RAIDar 4.1.6 release is an added Linux RPM installation package.
With regard to your question, eventhough Netgear may not add secure-delete packages in the firmware, probably one of ReadyNAS community developers might be willing to develop a simple add-on to do this. As long as the packages work with Debian Sparc or Debian x86. You can also use the APT add-on so you can install them yourself. Â

Hello Lewis,
You can use the APT add on as you can install the packages yourself. Otherwise, I don't think that Netgear can add a secure delete packages in their Firmware.
But it is possible that one of the ReadyNAS community developers can develop a simple add on in order to do this of course as long as the packages works fine with Debian x86 or Debian Sparc.
