Target: Could Not Read Field Structure

Hi,

I am using SQL Server 08 64 BIT for Target. My problem here is, I get this error message "Could Not Read Field Structure". I already checked the services, all are running, no services seem on stop mode. I remember doing something with Target. I disabled all of the connections in the Target Management Studio Connection Manager. But I remember one day, one of the cubes failed to process, and what I did was I restarted the system, and the processes turned normal.

 

Could please somebody help me with this error I encountered, on where should I focus? Does the past day Cubes process failure do this? Or when I disabled the connections?

Jerrytoms,

First, you will need to set up an exception on your firewall on the Analysis Services system server. If you disabled all the connections in the Target Management Studio Connection Manager, enable at least one connection from the application. Check the Process Cube Stage if it failed. Repair the processing by opening the management studio. Connect to the analysis services and find the connection string on your Target database.

 

Remember to process the cubes with the use of BI Accelerator. Try to determine the requirements with the reporting of your project. Investigate where you can limit the record number. Slice and dice your database records. Thank you for following these steps.
