Creating rules in Lotus Notes is similar to filtering the messages. The manner of filtering is done based on the contents of the messages. The rule or rules you set in Lotus Notes will determine what to do in all incoming messages.
For example, you can create a rule that will tell Lotus Notes to automatically move the message to a certain folder if a particular word matched in the subject field. Or you can create a rule that will make Lotus Notes to throw the message in the Trash folder if the message came from a particular person or a rule that will change the message’s status to high if it came from your boss.
You can check the present rules by clicking Rules in the Navigation pane. To set a new rule, click on the Rules folder found on the Navigation pane of your email. Next, click New Rule under Action bar See for the complete guide on creating rules in Lotus Notes.
