Creating bitmap slideshow using multimedia applications

Hi all,

I need to create a bitmap slideshow for a mini project. I thought of using ActionScript 3 for the slideshow but I am wondering on the performance or quality issue since it will be using bitmaps. Is there any real concern over this?

Hi there Emsley Marty,

 

Bitmaps are quite large files and are resolution dependent images. Depending on your post processing, unless you are planning to increase your images, you could lose a bit of quality but that shouldn't concern you as it won't be noticeable. Performance, on the other hand, could be the problem.

 

I would highly recommend you to convert your images to JPEGs. Setting the options to high quality during the conversion will save the quality of your images, but they will be much lighter and easier to be processed in the slideshow creation.
