The time I try to get started with the game, it results in the following error message

General protection fault!

Critical Error

Critical Error – General Protection Fault

Hi Grace W Runyon,

This issue can be caused by invalid registry or corrupted files. To clean up your registry you must have registry cleaner, you can download it here:

• http://www.paretologic.com/product/regcure-pro/

If corrupted files are the cause of these error then use system restore and restore your computer at the earlier time.

Critical Error – General Protection Fault

At first you need to read all the requirements if you want to play the game. The files can be corrupted. GFX card can occur that problem so you need to download the new version. Try this and i think your problem will be solved.
