Crossover cannot run as system component X11 is missing

Hello experts,

Why am I getting this error message when I try to use Crossover and shows “CrossOver cannot run because a required system component, X11, is not installed”.

I followed the required instructions but I was unable to fix this error.

I need assistance to resolve this error.

Thanks for help.

CrossOver cannot run because a required system component, X11, is not installed.

Please install the X11 application using the Optional installs package on your Mac OS install disc, then click check again.

Hi Christopher!

As you told me, you followed the instructions in the error to install the X11.

I would recommend you to download it from the XQuartz, and then, be careful, run it from within the Crossover, not the other way around.

So don't run the application using Crossover, but rather open the Crossover and tell it to run from there.

Remember to log out and log in again on your Mac for the change to take effect and then the Crossover will work.
