Custom Outlook form not being used error

After creating a custom Outlook form and then creating a new item or opening an older item from before the custom creation the form is not being used. Why?

Custom Outlook form not being used error

Hallo Lyla Barios,

I guess the form is refusing to be used because there are some settings in outlook that could have been disabled, and therefore you will need to check that out.

Just go to the control panel on your computer, and then choose folder options, and thereafter choose the tab view option. In the window that will open, choose the option that says 'show hidden files and folders', and also the 'hide extensions for known file types (disabled)' option and lastly the 'hide protected operating system files' option. Now try using the outlook form again and see if it will work.
