Custom syntax coloring editor similar to Ultraedit

I am using latest version of Ultraedit, I am in need of a better text editor which have more options and properties than that of Ultraedit along with custom syntax coloring. Please guide me, along with a demo or free download link towards the suggested editor.

I would recommended to you Sublime Text Editor. Sublime Text you can use for code, markup and prose. It have excellent user interface, powerful features and performance. It has syntax coloring. This Text Editor have a few things that makes it great: Goto Anything can open files with few keystrokes, instant jump to symbols, lines or words, Multiple Selections can change many lines at one and fast manipulate with files, Split Editing can edit files with many rows and columns and many more features.
