Hey guys,
I’ve been having this problem after installing v4.00. Now whenever I start up my computer I get this error message pop up:
DAEMON Tools
Initialization error.
This program requires at least Windows 2000 with SPTD 1.21 or higher. Kernel debugger must be deactivated. Is there a solution that doesn’t involve me formatting my hard disk and getting a new OS.
Thanks.
A DAEMON Tools Initialization error
Hello Sally,
Based on the screenshot, you are using Windows XP so your current OS should be fine. My suggestion is to get the latest Daemon Tools Lite (this freeware version is currently at version 4.41.3). Although you don't normally have to because Daemon Tools usually installs it by default, you can also opt to update SPTD (SCSI Pass Through Direct). You can get the latest version of SPTD 32- or 64-bit version (depending on your OS) from here: http://duplexsecure.com/downloads.
If the problems persists, use the uninstall option of Daemon Tools Lite to remove the old version. Reboot after uninstall to ensure everything is cleaned up. Then proceed with install.
Post back to let us know how it goes.

You should go to the Downloads to find the SPTDinst_X86. Download it and check the place that you locate it. After that run the ''sptdinst_x86.exe add''. Let me to make it clear. If you locate your download at the Temporary files you will type C:Temp. Then click the ''Start''/ Run and type C:tempsptdinst_x86.exe add. Logically, this process will solve your problem.
