Hi guys,
There is a certain thing about this erasing software that I am not sure about. I have a CD DVD Eraser software installed. Its a freeware though. However, I will like to know if we ever erased the data from the CD or DVD, can it be recovered back? If it is possible, how do we go about doing it? I thought it was impossible, but nothing is impossible until we try it right?
Data recoverable after using CD DVD Eraser software?

Hi Conrad Nelson!
The data erased is possible to recover by use of advanced applications and data reconstruction techniques. The utility which is available off the shelf and is suitable for data recovery is Active@. You can find it in this link: www.file-recovery.net. A powerful eraser tool(Active@ ERASER) that surpasses possibility of data recovery is also available in the above link.
Data recoverable after using CD DVD Eraser software?
Hi Conrad,
Once a file is removed on a medium such as a DVD or CD it would not possible to recover it again since this will be overwritten using a neutral pattern (sequence of 0 numbers or 0xAA format). Once a DVD /CD file has been erased the structure of it will change.  Not unlike HDDs that stores the file in a sector which is easier to recover specially if it is a solid state drive.
However there are other software builders that say that it is possible to recover files even from a CD/DVD, one of which is, Recovers Files Premium which as they say is recommended by Microsoft. However, they only mention recovering files from corrupted media not with using an Erasing software. Again you are right that the best answer for this is to try and see if it can be recovered.
