Is Dell and Mac video chat compatible with Skype?

Hello.  I'm not much of a technical person so please help me out.  A friend installed Skype on her Dell XPS 17 with Windows OS 8.  I'm planning also to install Skype but on my MacBook Pro with OSx Mountain Lion.  Is Dell and Mac video chat compatible?  Will this work?  Thanks in advance.

Hello Emeileekeila,

Yes you can install it and you will be able to make video calls. With skype calls the mark of the computer doesn’t matter. You just need to download the right one for you MacBook. It is said by some users that the latest version, that is  Skype 6.2.0.1117 Mountain Lion usually crashes when more than one file is sent to some one who uses the version. I don’t think you will have any problem now, especially in your case but the older version is better with MacBook. So you can go ahead to install skype.
