Dell Inspiron Webcam Will Not Connect To Skype

I was able to use my Dell Inspiron to connect to Skype last week. Now when I try to connect it just drops connection.  I think my laptop had automatic updates before it quit working. Can this cause a problem and keep it from working now? I really would like to get back on skype to talk to family.

Dell Inspiron Webcam Will Not Connect To Skype

Hello Patricia, did you check webcam 'Driver' in Device Manager. May be they're missing.

Try to locate your device in Device and hardware if its not getting detected, try restoring BIOS to defaults.

 

To restore BIOS, press F2 on startup screen, on BIOS screen, press F9 to restore it to default and then press F10 to save and exit. Reboot the system and check it the webcam detected.
