Hello,

A device manager is a software package (typically an .exe file installed by an .inf file) that allows Windows 7 to communicate with a specific hardware device.

Before Windows 7 can use new hardware, a device driver for that hardware must be installed.

You can use Device Manager to install and update drivers for hardware devices, change the hardware settings for those devices, and troubleshoot problems.
