The Windows Phone 7 from HTC reportedly has a lot of issues. This might be due to their being the more numerous hardware brand of Windows Phone 7. Here are possible solutions:

1. Roll-out Computer Problem. Try connecting your phone to another computer. It is best if you also try a computer in another location. If your phone and the (other) connected computer both work fine, then there might be something wrong with your computer.

2. Computer Hardware Problem. If your computer is problematic even if your phone is not connected to it, you might try a BIOS firmware upgrade. Verify if your phone now works with your computer.

If you have installed a new BIOS upgrade, try installing the older BIOS version. Are you installing a new hardware? Remove or replace that new hardware recently installed.

The displayed codes for your motherboard EB suggests your BIOS is having trouble Calling Video BIOS or Calling Legacy Option ROMs. There is a chance your memory cards on the phone is corrupted.

The error code BA also means your BIOS is detecting the presence of a removable media (IDE, optical drive detection, SD Cards etc.). Avoid plugging your phone while the computer starts or when it reboots.

If your computer is problematic even if the phone is not connected, maybe it's time to replace the motherboard.

3. Computer Software Problem. Run a complete scan of your computer using updated anti-malware software.

4. Change Phone Settings. On your phone, navigate to Settings > USB to PC > always ask (NOT charge only). When you plug it, choose HTC Sync option temporarily. If this solves your problem, set HTC Sync option as the default.

5. Software Upgrade. Update your phone to the latest major upgrade: Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Also verify that you have received the four additional updates after Mango. Microsoft might have released the updates last year but it is up to your communications provider if and when they will upgrade the units they sold.
