I have 300+ machines on my network. The problem is when my staff tries to log back in, they were unable to get an IP address. Checking on the AD server which I used to serve as a DHCP, it was up and running actively.
But running the ipconfig command and trying to renew the IP failed and it was unable to connect to the DHCP server. I tried everything and restarted the DHCP Client and Server on my AD, but I have no luck.
What else should I do?

DHCP server does not release ip and is not found by clients
Are you out of ip addresses? Check your pool and reservations. What does the event viewer say? Is you Server Nic with any issues? Are you doing an RDP to the AD & DHCP server or accessing it directly? Do you have a spare rack with same configuration?

DHCP server does not release ip and is not found by clients
Thank you Sharath,
much appreciated for the reply. I have 40+ ip addresses yet to be leased so this does not seem an issue. Reservation and pool seems to be fine and no errors on the console either. Last 12 hrs no error events. There are some other events but think its not related to DHCP.
Server NIC is with load balancing and does not seem with any issues either. I am accessing the server directly and RDP does not work. Yes I do have a server but swapping any spares is time taking. Any other quick checks I could do. Its been an hour and all my desktops are not usable.

First off, let the users on the network start getting the IP’s, remove the teaming on the server Network Interface Card and set it as a single network through.Â

Also see if this gives you a clue,
netsh dhcp server \server name show all
Change the server name in the above line and run in command prompt. This should give you some additional details of the DHCP.

DHCP server does not release ip and is not found by clients
Thank you this fixed my issue like a magic. I think there is some issue with one of my Ethernet card which was not showing any issues in event log. It immediately started leasing ip's once i removed the teaming and then disabled one nic. I will not go further in fixing the issue with the teaming enabled as cannot take any chances of downtime again.
Will call the IBM support this week end to fix the issue when the office is closed.
Appreciate your immediate help.
