Hello experts! I just want to get an advice with you guys… I am planning to buy an HDMI cable for my monitor, because I am so excited to see the difference compared to VGA cable, My question is… Will it differ if I buy a cheaper HDMI cable compared to branded HDMI cables? What makes the difference aside from the amount? Thank you for whoever can answer my question.

Difference of a cheap HDMI cable to expensive ones
Hi,
Â
If you are planning to buy a HDMI cable, always go for an expensive, good quality cable. The connectors of the expensive one will be gold coated and this reduces the contact resistance. Also, since there are many lines in the HDMI cable, a slight difference in the signal propagation between the lines will lead to poor video quality and hence the usage of a high end video technology will be compromised because of using a cheap HDMI cable.
The usage of cheaper cable can lead to unnecessary spikes which may damage the hard-disk or any associated hardware including the Motherboard
Cheers.
