I am playing League of Legends on my signature edition Acer Aspire laptop and game was running smoothly until now. I opened the game as usual and chose my champion and waited for the game to load. The game could not load and crashed displaying the message Directx error league. I feel helpless. Please, someone, help me solve this issue.
Hi, I have been receiving several such complaints from the users of the game lately. I am going to post a step-by-step solution for people like you to help you solve the issue.
• Kindly open the Run window by simultaneously pressing the Windows logo key and R key. In this window, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
• You have to click on the arrow present near Display Adapters to expand it and click on the driver shown. Next, click on Update Driver.
• Inside the Driver tab, click on Update drive.
• After clicking on Update Drive, choose the first option:
• Go to the Desktop, right-click on League of Legends icon and click on Open File Location.
• Look for Config folder. In this folder, delete two files named game.cgf and input.
• Open the League of Legends folder, click on the RADS folder and delete the lol_game_client folder. Delete all such folders if you see more than one.
• Open your game and click on the question mark that signifies Repair.
• After doing all the above steps, go to Device Manager. Right-click on the driver you see and select Disable.
The problem there is with the video card. First option is to try updating the video card driver. This may fix the problem with Microsoft DirectX. If you have an Acer laptop, go to Acer Drivers and Manuals. Here, enter your machine’s serial number or model number to search. You can find it printed on the sticker on the side or bottom of the laptop.
Once your product is located, click it to go to the download page. Before downloading, select your correct operating system then download the latest driver for your graphics adapter. You can also download the complete set of drivers for your machine. You should also check the system requirements of the game you are playing.
League of Legends
“League of Legends” supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. It requires 3 GHz or faster processor with SSE2 support, 1 GB RAM, 12 GB free space, and Microsoft DirectX 9.0c-compatible video card with Shader 2.0 support. On the other hand, if you have a compatible system but you experience problems, try downloading the “MinConfig” settings file.
What this file does is take your game settings down to the bare minimum configuration which is helpful when your current game settings are too high for your machine to load into the game. First, download MinConfig.zip then unpack the ZIP file. Next, log in to your League of Legends account. After this, open Windows Explorer then navigate to the folder where you extracted the files then copy the following files to “C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config”:
game.cfg
PersistedSettings.json
If you are prompted, click to overwrite files. Lastly, start a Custom Game by yourself. This should give you the minimum configuration settings.
