Disabling the autoplay feature on disc drives

Hello Cruelladevil.
It is generally a good idea in terms of system security for Autoplay to be disabled. Â Most viruses or malware oftentimes get distributed through USB flash disks, USB hard drives or even optical media.
If you have Windows 7, you can disable Autoplay via Start -> Control Panel -> Autoplay and uncheck the "Use Autoplay for all media and devices". Â Alternatively, you can select the default behavior for every type of media that you insert such as Audio CD, DVD movie, etc.

Below is the screenshot on how to disable Autoplay when running Windows 7.
To disable the AutoPlay feature temporarily, hold down the left Shift key when you start the CD. If you want to view the contents of the CD, you can go to My Computer and then right-click on the CD-ROM drive and select Explore from the list.
