The disk is write-protected error
Hi ,
I need some assistance. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit from Windows XP Home Edition. From my previous operating system, I will make an Acronis True Image 10 Backup. So I made a backup and mount it on my new operating system, then copy all the files from there. I can run that without having problems when I was using Windows XP, but in Vista I am encountering error;

The disk is write-protected.
Remove the write-protection or use another disk.
How can I remove this error? This also happens when I insert a USB disk or any SD card to my computer. On my USB disk, I formatted it from other computer then insert on my own PC, but it still has the same error. On my SD card I slide the tiny switch on the side then slide it back again and again, it doesn't have any effect. Is there any problem with my USB ports attached on my computer? Or the optical drive I am using? I read a site explaining that it can be a possible cause of malware. But when I scanned my system, it found nothing. How can I resolve this? I need help.
Thank you.
